About the role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Independent Living Unit Coordinator to join our Property Services department at our Central Office in Hawthorn on a permanent full time basis. Reporting to the General Manager Property Services, you will assist with the day-to-day management of the Independent Living Units including admission, discharge and quality service development which promotes independence. You will facilitate and build effective relationships with internal and external clients through appropriate processes and provide emotional and social support needed by our clients with specific needs eg. PTSD or other mental health conditions.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Demonstrated experience in a community housing setting.
- Demonstrated experience providing accommodation support
- Understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997.
- Excellent communication skills for relating positively and confidently with our ex-service/veteran clients.
- Ability to work independently with effective time management skills
- Demonstrated ability in dealing with challenging behaviours.
- Computer literacy – word processing, spreadsheets, databases.
- Current Victorian driver’s license
Your previous experience working with veterans, dealing with mental health and disability will be of benefit to you in this role, so will a relevant Cert IV, Diploma or tertiary qualification in community sector, social work or related discipline be.
